Toegang betalen voor de Trevifontein, Rome wil af van gedrang voor monument
Toeristen in Rome moeten vanaf vandaag twee euro betalen om de wereldberoemde Trevifontein van dichtbij te kunnen bekijken. Daarmee wil het stadsbestuur de bezoekersstroom onder controle houden en het bouwwerk beschermen.
Van een afstandje is de fontein nog wel gratis te zien. De Trevifontein is een van de grote trekpleisters van de Italiaanse hoofdstad, met dagelijks tienduizenden bezoekers die zich verdringen om de beste selfies te kunnen maken.
Ook worden er munten in het water gegooid. De legende is dat iemand die met gesloten ogen een munt met de rechterhand over de linkerschouder gooit, nog eens zal terugkeren naar Rome.
